so i got a really good deal from a guy in new hope, AL selling his complete 03+ bumpers, side skirts and fenders for a good price. i bought them saturday and mounted the back bumper right on. i have 00-02 body cavalier. had to trim some of the plastic on the back bumper re enforcement for the bumper to fit snug in place. no problem there. the side skirts still have the clips in them, thank God.
Question: will they look right on my 02? i placed them up to the spots and they look pretty good. just not sure its going to fit like the 03 bodies fit. i dont think there is any difference in the actual body that i know of. some of you guys may know more on this than i do. if so any advice and info will be appreciated. tomorrow im going to see about actually mounting the back up that lines up perfect with one of the screw holes in the inner fenderwell(back fender well) the front isnt even close to the hole so thinking i can just drill a hole in the fender well lip and and screw the front up. whats the best way to secure these skirts to the car? just use the clips that are on them and drill holes for them, or should i also put 3M tape on them if possible. Again like i said any advice is gonna be helpful. thanks. below is a picture of the back bumper on the car. and yes im going to remove it and put my stock back on until i get it all painted to match.
cutting out for a good fit
a little paint editing of how i want the back bumper painted. of course the blue will be white but the grey area edited will be black. the guy i bought it from had a Tsundo exhaust sticker on it. i took out the Tsu and d and made a custom sticker that fits my cars LOUDNESS
The body is essentially the same from 95-05 J-cars. Everything should fit perfectly provided you have the right parts to make it work. If you had the right bumper crush panel, you wouldn't need to trim anything. The skirts are normally held on along the side with clips that are drilled into the bottom of the door sill and then just clip on (no 3M tape on stock Cavy skirts). There's two screws, one on either end... and a bunch along the bottom. For the front bumper, you're going to need the 03-05 headlights and hood to make it fit right.
Ok cool. about to mount them up right now actually, just got home and not tired so might as well work on cavy! got screws, drill bits, stock clips, and as of right now cavy with no side skirts. i'll upload pics tomorrow. yea i went looking for hood and headlights today in junk yards but all of them i found were hit from the front! so hoods were crushed and headlights shattered. i'll keep looking though! thinkin i might stick with 02 front end and get wings west lip and be done with it! thanks again
ur gonna wanta drill holes for the skirts! only good way 2 go!

02_redbadged Yea thats what i did. i drilled holes for the clips to pop into and then i screwed the rest of it up. go a screw in front and rear fender wells and then the screws in bottom where the lip goes to pinch weld. got a pic of them on the car below. but not painted yet. just fitting them up and getting everything ready on car before paint. not sure if i want to two tone and use this color gm blue on white or if i want to just paint the car all white again.
Opinions? welcome
Quiklilcav I really like the wings west front lip for my car. looks similar to the 02 z24 and 02LS lip it just kinda has a lil different of a shape how it comes down in the front. Instead of just straight down it kinda has an angle down away from the car. not sure yet though, still undecided.
Opinions? welcome for that idea also!
the guy i bought them from had silver decals on them and stickers. in process of getting all the stuff off of them. so that is the silver you see on the side skirts
That set up will look hot.
I really like your wheels, well not your wheels but the wheels on your car.
