I have a 98 pontiac sunfire 2200 will a 01 chevy cavilier 2200 motor fit in my car?I am asking because I was told You Have to change the whole intake out put the 98 intake on the 01 and the same with the coil packs is that all that has to be changed or is there more and will it just bolt right in and will everything plug right back in like it was the old motor?

98 and 01 are the same engine. The 97 and the 01 would be different.

Not sure about a few details like EGR setups and whatnot, but you should be able to drop it in.

yea if they both have plastic intakes they should interchange. i would simply double check connecters as you have the old engine out, and change any that are necessary

AFAIK, they didn't change anything on the 2200. If they did, you can most likely swap the part from your old one.

They changed the EGR system in '99. IIRC changing the intake (or maybe just the water/EGR manifold) and ICM should take care of any potential problems as far as compatability is concerned. (Do double check the sensors, make sure they haven't changed.)

^^ For some reason I had been thinking they only changed the EGR on the 2.4, not the 2200, but you'd know better than I would.
