I just swapped the motor from a 01 sunfire into a 00 cav. I go to turn it on and here the cylinoid click, bout wont turn over, so I get a screw driver and use it to jump across the cylinoid and the car fires right up. wtf? Thanks
I don't think it is the neutral safety switch, but it might. Thanks for any help. Is there any way to tell if it is the neutral safety switch? Thanks again.
I was doing a little more looking and was wondering, could it be passlock? Thanks
check you starter relay should be in front by batt off of core support looks like a little square fuse
Thats what went wrong with mine twice
get rich or go for broke
I was thinking that was the ac relay
I was wondering if any one had a picture of the wiring for the starter? Thanks
do you have the little ground hooked up on the starter by the noid?

I got the problem solved, I was looking at an 02 starter and the wiring is different. I looked at another 00 today and had a power line going to the wrong stud. swapped it and it fired right up.

the ground on 98% of starters is the starter casing itself. there are NO ground wires what-so-ever on them.
I believe he means the wire that goes the long bolt on the starter. I believe it is a ground wire.
nope my 96 and 98 had a little ground wire that went into the bolt on front of noid it runs to starter relay
if it's not hooked up it wont turn over. glad to see you got it running
