I did a bad thing.
Sunday, September 20, 2009 11:02 PM
Well i was removing some wires and I accidentally cut the yellow wire for the VSS off at the ecu plug. Could some one tell me were it goes on the ECU.. its a 95 2.2 3 speed.

Thank you.

if u cut it just use a butt connector not too many people r gonna give u much info on vss.

Um, unless you cut a bunch of yellow wires, it should be easy to figure out which end goes to which.

As Ray said, you're not going to get the direct answer to this question.

all i need to know is where the yellow wire for the VSS goes on the ecu connector.. and i cant look at it and figure it out because a bunch of wires are gone

all i need to know is if its in the blue or white connector and in what pin.. hell you could even tell me which color wires its between.. if nobody can tell me where it is at im just going to rip out the rest of whats left for wiring and say @!#$ my speed o meter.. which would bring me to the second question..

a good, decent priced, aftermarket speedo that works off our trannies 4000ppm signal?

I'd tell ya, but I don't have a 95 wiring diagram.

Well there is a haynes manual download in the maintance forum... 95-01 cavalier.. i found what i needed to know, figured i'd let you know what was available in the other forum..

last quest on this topic..

is vss high a output or input?

since i am running 2 ecus, if the yellow wire is an output i dont see why i cant use the one from the v6 ecu and just splice the purple wires together for the same result.

I just finished wiring my 98 sunfire and piggy backed the computers. This is what I did.
J body Pcm
C1-14 UART
C1-61, C1-20 Hot all time
C1-19 Hot in run and start
C1-60,C2-64,c1-18 ground
C1-54, Eng cool temp sensor
C1-64 VSS yellow
C2-62 VSS low Purple
I did not use the VSS for the 05 GAM computer, the VSS is a input for the Speedometer on the J body Pcm.
The only problems I have is I have a Alt light, tach does not work and I had a 300ma draw on the battery. I added a rely to control the power to the J-PCM which is controled with the ign. switch. So far my car starts, idles and shifts right I used the 4T45-E. I dont post alot but i have recieved alot of help from the people on this site. Thank you. And I tend to agree with them use the search buttom, if you read enough you will find the answer. (maybe) Good Luck
Does any one know why the schematics wants the two wires hot all the time on the Jbody PCM ?
Axel.

95s have a different plug on th ePCM i believe. whats with the people swappin gV6s scewing up the wiring. if you didn't piggy back it you wouldn't have to worry about touching that VSS and there woul dbe no issues thus why piggy backing is more work

Piggybacking is less work if you use Megasquirt.

I love how everyone flamed the guy here. If he really wanted to... you know..... It seems like he has the knowledge to do it. albeit illegal and stupid, but he did not ask that infamous question at all. Seemed like an honest mistake.

It deals with the very sensitive subject on this forum about ur speed limiter.

Re: I did a bad thing.

I wasn't asking about the speed limiter, I was asking what pin on the ecu the yellow wire goes to because I cut it off. In reality I don't have a speed limiter at the moment because of my mistake.

let me ask a new question.. Can someone help me fix my speed limiter, I wouldn't want to go over 108.

if you cut the yellow wire, id say it goes to the yellow wire.

i cut it off at the ecu plug, i have a diagram but it dosent show what pin it goes to on the ecu.. if i had a pinout i could figure it out, I had one but i dont know what happened to it, I may have downloaded it from this website.

It usually does, but at first you don't realize it. What wiring diagram are you looking at?

the diagram is from a haynes manual i found in the maintenance forum. it doesn't have a pinout, it just shows the wires go to the pcm. I tried to hook up the yellow wire from the v6 computer to the vss then run the purple wire to both ecms but i dont have a mph reading.

What vehicle is the PCM for. Year, make, model?

On your 94 PCM your yellow VSS wire goes to B30, the purple goes to B29.

On the 95 Cavalier 2.2 diagram it shows Yellow going to C1-18, Purple going to C1-21, and a Dark Green with white stripe going to C1-8

Set yourself up on AutoZone.com Set those 2 vehicles and you can get Haynes manual wiring diagrams. That's where I got these from.
