I am trying to get my head around how to this properly. I have a 00-02 2.4 ld9 motor sitting around here and i plan on getting boost again. after speaking to someone it might just be easier to swap in a entire Wire harness , ECU, bcm into the 98.

But i am not sure how to approach such a project.

I would need a complete wire harness, ECU and BCM. I know the sensor or something on the fuel tank is different for pre-00, also know different knock sensor(wont matter i have 00-02 engine), and abs is different etc?

Beside gauges etc, doesnt the BCM control ABS, AC and Airbags?

I am asking basically who here has done the swap and whats involved.

if its a 98 you will also need fuel lines, lower dash. I think you would prob be best to use hp tuners for tuning instead of using the reflash.

or finding a 00+ car

I did the pre-00 to 2k wiring swap on two of my cars... the first a 99 vert to a 00 harness... the second a 98 Z24 2.4L to a 03 Eco harness (with the Eco as well).

Basically... strip the car down to the sheet metal and swap everything over. That's the easiest way. You'll need to swap stuff like the fuel tank, ABS module, SDM (airbag module), etc... it's not an easy swap unless you have the whole car there.
