im doing the ecoswap, it should work still right? the grandam had a ecotec also.

It will probably work, but it will probably hold your throttle open too much. That has been seen in a few cases of the V6 swaps. The distance between the bracket and the pedal is slightly shorter on the Grand Am, causing the Cavalier pedal to pull the cable a little when you're not stepping on the gas, holding the throttle open and raising the idle considerably.
