i have a 1997 sunfire with the 2.2 3 speed tranny i wanna put a 1998 or newer 2200 in it what do i have to do? If i have to change the computer and wireing harness i can go to lkq and get it but my question is do i just need the engine wireing harness since stuff is different on the 2200 like the coil packs are on the side instead of being in the back? just what do i need to make it work thanks mike

97 works with 98+ engines there are only a few minor differences from what im told the pcm and everything else will work the same just a few minor modifications with the under the hood wiring and your good to go

Yes, but you can make the throttle cables the right size though the 97 cables are longer then the 98 but it would probably be a good idea and from what im told 97 pcm will work in any LN2 up to 02
