Security light

My 97 cav 2.2 wouldn't start the other day. Would just crank over, after a few minutes i put the gas pedal to the floor and i finally caught. But the security light stayed on, i disconnected the battery which did the trick. Driver today it came on again? But i shut the car off and restarted it and it was ok. What is wrong with it????? Thanks

Check your ignition fuses i had this same problem then reflash your pcm if all the fuses are good but my problem was in the ign 2 40 amp fuse

Check that fuse if its not blown check for voltage with a volt meter if the fuse looks good test the resistance in it, it should be .2 to .5 ohms

If the security light is coming on, but the car still starts I would say it's just getting old. If the security system is acting up, it will start and then stall after 1-2 seconds.

Sounds like you have a different issue.
