Is there a light bulb behind it?
No light for the dimmer switch
only sunfires have the light the sunfire one will fit into place but the light wont do anything as its can't shine through black plastic
JBO since July 30, 2001
you can peel the overlay off and cut a notch in the plastic for it to shine through. You can reuse the old one if your careful or buy a custom one from black cat. I did this on my old 96 cavy. IIRC theres even an oval umpring of where the light hole should be. I dunno maybe the toyota cavs had lighted panels.
It's the same switch used between the Cavalier and Sunfire... so there's a spot for the bulb on a Cavalier, but as stated - the front panel has nowhere for the light to shine through as the Sunfire does. The only other difference between the Cavalier and Sunfire is the colour of the dial itself.
hmm interesting.... never knew this!!
Very old pic:
That's where the bulb would fit in.. on a Cavalier switch. But there is nothing for it to light up... so it's useless unless modified.
