Ok. So I've been looking a little and cant find anyone else with this topic I'm sure they are out there but oh well....I need to know if this is a basic swap or what I've found a 96 cavy i can get but its an automatic ad I've got to have a manual for racing... will I just need the shifter, clutch lines, computer, and wiring harness, or what? someone told me i would have to make motor mounts but I've done it on a first gen and it wasn't bad...if anyone has done this or knows how your input will be much appreciated....thanks

well the car is practically free and its going to be gutted and stripped down and have a roll cage put in it anyway so it wouldnt be to bad to weld in a transmission mount...

Personally i've never done it but i've helped my uncle do it with a few VWs, all we did was we bought a junked/wrecked 5 speed version of the car and any part required for the standard we took from the junked one and put it in the auto. The easiest way would be too start with another entire way. But really you probably are best off just buying a 5 speed to begin with, since you would need a whole other car, or a lot of trips to the junkyard to do it.
