so if I buy some 02 taillights i can use them with my 03 trunk but i have to get a filler or buy an 02 trunk and not get a filler correct...

at this price dont even bother with a filler, just buy the proper year trunk lid, hell you can get a full carbon trunk for 100 bucks more, or stock for about the same. If you want cheaper yet, just sheet metal shave the reflector recess.
