Hi guys new here. Iv got my self a nice 2001 Z-24 cavalier but I threw a rod in the block, it's hard to find another engine, just wondering if a engine from a 98 Z-24 will work? What will I have to change?
If I could get some advise would be great, or if someone's got a good running engine in the lower mainland I could buy?

Lower Mainland as in Greater Vancouver? Try bcjbody.org, though I don't know of anyone selling a running 2.4L at the moment.

The 98 will swap in, but you'll have to swap over all your intake/exhaust manifolds and so on.. the 98 had EGR while the 01 doesn't. Also need to fit a thread adapter to the knock sensor, there's a big tapped hole on the 98 and a small sensor on the 01.

I think I may have found a 2000 engine tho so I'll probably use that one

99 + will work just fine
