I googled around and found one reference that gave a Quad 4 long block as weighing 184 lbs. (This from the Quad 4 forums.) The 2.4 TC should be similar.
markc50...formerly 1of7627 but that login doesn't work anymore.
I would assume less than 200 since I can carry a long block...or at least set it into a truck bed or j-body trunk.

I am looking more for a complete weight minus alt clutch etc.
I did see the 185 for the 2.3 long block, but finding different numbers ranging from 270 to 284
plus with the ld9 i would think there would be more weight due to balance shafts etc

id love to know, myself.
only thing i have to add is the LD9 block is definitely heavier than a quad 4's. its not only got thicker cylinder walls but also a more substantial crank main webbing area.
ive personally lifted an LD9 block, then a 94 quad 4 block, then a olds rocket parts quad 4 block. the LD9 block definitely was the heavier out of the two while the olds rocket block was extremely light. im gonna say 20-30 pounds lighter, honestly.
also, to add... the LD9 may have balance shafts but its also got smaller and lighter everything versus a quad. smaller pistons, rods, lighter crank by about 6 pounds, the entire valvetrain assembly is smaller/lighter and also has a lightweight plastic composite intake manifold compared to a quad's cast aluminum manifold. but, as i said.. the LD9 block felt heavier to me. id say in the end, both the quad and the LD9 are within a few pounds of each other.
