Sounds like you might want to ask in the maintenance section. And give a little more info on what all it's doing.

Maybe lifter tick? I like going after problems like that with a automotive stethoscope. Helps pinpoint the problem.
Doesn't sound like a motor... if it was a motor it would clack twice as loud and twice as fast as you rev it up. It sounds like a shovel being smacked against the engine. It makes babies cry.
That goes away as you rev it up... you need to determine if its in the top end or in the timing chain case.
I'm personally wondering if its either a lifter or the chain slapping due to the tensioner getting week.

im thinking the lifters are collapsed and not getting oiled properly.... tear it down and find out?
