I need to be able to build the best motor i can while appearing stock. i will be using the ln2 motor. I was wondering what most people do to these motors to get the most out of them. ive herd of people using the heads off of the 2.2 s10 motors is this a good idea. i just need input on some modifications that will be tough to find in tech.
depends on the year of the cavalier if you use a 98+ ln2 with a 97- head you will raise your compression dramatically i believe its at or just above 11:1

Lots of different things you can use. Would suggest some brand name racing rods such as Eagle etc. Spinning those rpm's for lap after lap, stock one's will eventually bend. Headder, bigger throttle body, head milled.....alot......ported head.....does depend on what year really as previously stated. Setup on the car is probably more important than motor work.
Thanks this is all helping alot! i have axis to a motor shop and a salvage yard so do some work wont take much. ill be running the 2001 ln2.
