Good evening,
My 98 Cavalier with 2.2 engine and 4 speed automatic transmission with 463000+ kms (287756 miles...) recently showed a P0122 code, which is related to the TPS Sensor, and started shifting very hard.
Right now were I live (Venezuela) it is has become very difficult to get the spare parts in the last 3 - 4 months (imports have been restricted).
According to AC Delco page and other sources, the correct part is:
on part: 25483
OEM: 17123855
AC Delco: 214-914
213-4668
I have located an AC OEM part, with is identified with P/N 17123852, and AC-Delco no. 213-912. In Amazon web page It says it is used for 4.3 V-6 Vortec engine used in the 98 Blazer.
Does anybody know if I can substitute P/N 17123852 (4.3 V-6 Blazer) for P/N 17123855 (2.2 Cavalier L-4) ?
I have seen several web pages that say that these parts are equivalent (mostly Chinese and similar sourced parts) but I would like confirmation
Thanks for your help !
no idea for sure but its a good chance most GMs use the same TPS and IAC and the 4.3 and 2.2 have alot in common

Exactly what I was going to say. But it's just a guess.

My 97 4.3 truck is using a tps sensor from either an ln2 or a 2.3, I forget which. I had like 8 laying around and I popped it in and it worked.

look for s10 2.2s as well.
Thanks for everybody for your recommendations.
I bought the 4.3 V-6 Blazer TPS, it was a spare part from Delphi Brazil for the 4.3 engine used in the Brazilian Blazer, but it did not work.
Yesterday a AC-Delco TPS ordered through a friend from Amazon arrived, so I am going to try with this part..
I have another doubt, I have seen in several forms, mostly for older cars, that after you replace the TPS, there are several procedures to "calibrate" or "adjust" the new TPS with the computer , such as turning on and off the ignition switch for 3 seconds, with the door opened, etc.
Does anybody know if these procedures apply for a 98 Cavalier with 2.2 engine ?
Thanks for you help,
Good evening,
Does anybody know if there is a procedure for "caibrating" or "adjusting" a TPS sensor for a 98 2.2 lt. Cavalier ?
Regards,
Should not be. I've changed mine like 8 times for various reasons and used ones that were off other motors. Plug and play.
