i have a 96 2.2 that i was building for boost but ran into money problems. i got as far as lowering the comp to 8.5:1 with forged pistons and stock rods. i have the money now to get back on the boost kick but i was wondering if i could just be better off spraying the crap out of this set up. thanks
thats almost perfect compression..

That is a good ratio for boost or a high amount of nitrous.

i was thinking direct port. how much should i think about spraying?
I suggest a 50 or 75 shot for starters and ease you way into it. Pistons arent the only thing that nitrous has an affect on. So by just changing the pistons your not gauranteed to be able to run a 150 shot.

That a pretty low compression ratio.
Lower than I like for turbo/super, but functional.
Way too low for a nitrous build, but not to say it wouldn't still run.

Id say perfect for boost, nitrous you'd want much higher.

You do realize that adding a turbo will raise your compression. Which is why you want low compression pistons right?
I still say 8.5 is fine for nitrous, since stock is like 9:1 I do believe maybe 9.5:1

you might break into the 14's with a 150 shot

Your compression is great for a 70s smog v8!
Other than squeeze what do you have for N2o OR Boost??
