whats the size of the injectors in a 2.4?
i see after market injectors for the 2.4 that are 270 cc, 320 cc, and 550 cc. i was thinknig of getting a set this year
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
yea ive heard 240-260, nice thing is with a 2.4 you can use the injectors from the GM supercharger kit they are 310cc, im sure if you search around enough on them you can find the part # for them they are a direct swap, they might dump a little heavy without the juice so you prob need to get an apexi safc to trim some fuel and get it right
I believe the low impedance from 95 to 99 are 24lb and the newer ones are 190lb high impedance. I was using the injectors out of a 2.3 H.O which are 310cc on my 2200 than it was running a little rough than I switched to the 2.3 L.O injectors (210cc) and it runs fine without turning down the pressure.

190 lbs?
I hope that is a typo. The injectors are the same size from 95-99 and 00-02.

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
Sorry I meant 190 cc and I was pretty sure that when the switched to the high impedance they made them 190cc. Also I can be wrong about this.
what is the lb rating on the 2200 stock injectors?
2200 ohv have 19 lb/hr stock injectors.
yes, shifted. the 2.4 are 24 lb/hr. both engines also have high impedance.
I 'm getting ready to put a set of 2.4 injectors into my 96 2.2 with a S-AFC II controlling them on a custom top feed conversion. We'll see what happens. Should be done by the end of March.
so how would the 24# injectors out of a 97 lt1 act alright in the 99 2200?
if they fit the rail and harness, they would act similar
damnit we need an edit/delete button. i meant they would act like 2.4L injectors. same flow rate. would have to have some fuel trimmed off probly to make it idle right.
yea. i meant to say 00+ are high impedance. just left that part out. thanks
how can you tell the difference between high impedence and low impedence? I have a 99 model engine and trans in my 97 rs.
measure the resistance across the injector plug with an ohm meter/multimeter. high impedance will be around 12-14 ohms.

this may be a stupid question, but i should measure across the terminals on the actual injector?
The high impedance (skinny injectors) used in some 99's and all of the 00+ 2.4L's are different flow rates. I had my high impedance injectors sent to RC Engineering for balancing and they were around 190cc if I remember correctly. In fact, they have been even lower. I think the 95-98 were between 240-260 cc.

is there any advantage to putthe 22 or 24 # injectors on a bolt on 2200? I have access to both. Just curious as if it is worth the time. i will be spraying soon also. If at all i will put the bigger injectors in for that.

This is what I believe to be correct as well, the 99+ high impedance injectors don't flow as much as the earlier ones.
