Hi guys in the audio forum!
I need a sub suggestion from you guys.... I presently bought a new amplifier and now I need a very great subwoofer. I want to put only one in the trunk. Should I go with a 10'' or a 12''???
I have no idea what I am looking for. I had two 12'' in the trunk and I sold the whole damn box for space reasons...well because of my girlfriend. Now I need ONE awesome sub.
What do you guys suggest me?? Any pics/info on any subwoofer would be greatly appreciated!! As for my budget I'm not tight at all so I don't care about the price. I just wan't the best one out there!
My amplifier is a MA Audio HK-1997 one channel 1200watt (600rms) if that matters.

well is the amp 600w at 2 ohms or 1 ohm or what. We need more info on the amp and your budget.

A Kicker L5 would match up that 600 wRMS. They have dual 4's and dual 2's, so if your amp is 1 or 2 ohm etc then just buy to match your amp. I got mine for around $150 on etronics.com
As far as 10 or 12 that's personal preference. 10's can be just as loud as 12's but won't have the same low end by a little bit
Other than that we'd have to know your budget to give "accurate" suggestions. Otherwise I'd say JL or RE lol

1 x 1200W RMS @ 1 Ohm Mono

A Alpine Type R sounds like it would work nicely
connect it at 1 ohm... get a DD, RE, Adire, or JL sub... IMO
ooh that much power at 1 ohm deserves a DD, RE, Adire, JL or Sound Stream sub at least ..
alpine type-r's are hands down the greatest subs for the $$....check out ebay for them.

i'd go with a jl audio w7 there kinda high priced around 500 for a 10 and 600 for a 12 but the sound quality as well as the spl is amazing i have a 10 hooked up to a 1250 watt rms amp ran a 1 ohm and it is louder then the two 12 in audiobahns i had. a kicker l7 would be nice to, i was at a spl comp. and a guy there had one 12 with a 1000 watt amp and hit 140db.

kicker L5 or personally i would go for the L7 better quality, and good to have if u ever want to upgrade your'e amp. I have 2 12' L7's hooked up to an MA hig current competiton amp (old school thing with big handles and all kinds of buttons) i am running 1300 rms and the L7 eat it for breakfast. I have blown away other subs such as th audiobahn flame Q series. those are a joke.. i got my L7's factory renewed from sounddomain.com for 159.00 a pop. cant beat it..
I would go with the a 12" Alpine Type R or a 12" JL W3v2
a W7 will wreck your car from the amount of bass..I also thought they were more then $600 for a 12"

Are you looking for a great sub in the way of SQ, SPL, or SQL? Since I don't know that i'll just throw some names out like Kicker, RE, Adire or an Image Dynamics.
