Alright, I just installed a set of Kicker RS components in my doors, along with a Kicker 250x2 amp to power them. I already have a Kappa Perfect sub hooked up running off of a Sony amp. My problem is that it seems like whenever i use the stereo in the daytime, my comps won't turn on. The amp still is lit up, but I guess it's not sending power to the speakers. Now because it seems to only be in the daytime (80-90 degree days), I was thinking maybe the amp was too hot and would go into protection. The curious thing, though, is that the Sony amp is working and has always worked perfectly fine in my trunk, even in a small space, and the Kicker amp is still lit up normally as if nothing is wrong. Does anyone have any better ideas on what else may cause this? I'd like to enjoy my front speakers in the daytime along with the night, so any help would be appreciated.
Did you check your RCAs...check the ground on the amp...make sure the amp has ventilation, or at least not in direct sunlight...try taking your RCAs off your sub amp and put them into your component amp and see if the speakers work then...
could have a blown diode for the speaker out line
