Go to a car parts store and buy a kit.

And BTW, the fire department won't like you anymore since if you get stuck in you car in a crash, they have to wory about cutting into bat cables when they cut up you car to get you out. Most cars with stock rear bats have a cut off that is activated when there is a crash.

well when i went to the link in the write up it sent me to a place and for some reason all i could find was motorcycle atv and marine batteries i didnt really search the site as i was just trying to find a good answer here for a relocation for the battery and this was the only one i could find so i decided to at least put a link in. you could probably run it depending on the CCA of the battery and such. give it a shot and see if it works is the best i could tell ya......

im running a bunch of tv's, bunch of lights, 2 amps, 4 13" subs, air w/ 2 compressors, etc etc etc

what about adding a second alternator? i know its a tight squeeze in such a small engine bay but you could always pull your ac and power steering if you dont drive it much around town and install a second alternator with a custom bracket to take the place of your power steering pump. just a thought but actually you might be able to make a bracket that will still allow your power steering to run also.... then to get belt length i believe you just take a piece of string and tape it to one pulley and run it through the serpentine style system back to the taped piece and measure from there.... if anybody has experience with adding alts let me know.... as for air that dont drain too much electrical unless your playing with it ALOT.... or have a very small tank

i think that was his idea he never said he was gonna relocate as for me i wanna relocate to clean the engine bay up a little bit which will include more than just the battery if i have it my way. it will also allow a better routing for piping when it comes time for the boost as far as installing a good cool air source and running my IC to TB charge pipe

ya, im not doing a relocation...im talking about adding batteries. kinda went off subject with the Hawkin question(my bad)

but i still expect to drain the batteries at shows with everything running all day

and as far as adding another alternator, i dont think its possible with the eco engine bay. i mean im sure its "possible" but prolly not worth as much as it would take to do it

eh you could always figure out something. do you drive it daily or is it straight up show car? if its show car then get rid of the power steering and AC that will also free up some spinning power for the alternators unless you cant run your car engine at the shows.... then you might wanna figure out some way to source a AC-DC inverter that you can plug into an actual plug to run your electronics off of when your at car shows ( ive seen them at some places but cant really remember where) and that also would be dependant if they would allow that as well.....

did i misread the title of this topic and the first post??

If your adding batteries to give more oomph to your system, you just need to wire the second batt in parallel to the first. ground it to the frame and fuse your power wire on both ends. very simple.

If you want to run you system with the car off a lot, you need to wire in an isolator.

no you didnt misread i thought you were referencing joey baggs so my bad for misrepresentation. anyways what fuse do you run for the battery to battery connection? or is it safe to just go with a good high amp fuse.....

ok cool as for the big 3 would it behoove me to run those in the 1/0 ga wire as well? and also would i put the fuse from the alt to battery closer to the battery or the alternator? my reckoning would be that i would attach it to the closest point at where the load is being sent from correct? well if so i got a bunch of wiring to do this weekend.. glad i aint got any plans hahahaha

yes, use 1/0 for your big three...better to go big now instead of having to redo it later.

fuse your wire as close to the battery as you can.

ok cool thanks for the help man..... hopefully i can get hold of a camera and take pictures after i do all this. id like to get all the wiring out of the way before i start my actual audio install thats the big PITA portion of any audio set up... so i figure if i can get a little bit of it out of the way for now then i will be straight.... of course they will be rockin wing cap connectors until i do get the parts but hey at least they wont ground out hehe....
