i am making a sub enclosure and i want it as light as it could be but strong at the same time

i want something along the like of a cobalt SS sub box but it will be on the right side for weight repartition!

oh yeah what material should i use to make the box beside fiberglass for the back maybe!

umm...you're only option really is fiberglass....unless you know somebody who does plastic molds for cheap.

If you're only looking for 1 speaker...the 10-15 lb. difference it would make by making it out of wood wouldn't be noticeable.

trust me it will be noticeable I am rcing with this car (lapping ) this comming summer i want the less possible weight in it with a subtle sound system

Like I said...10-15 lbs will NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!
Take it out when you race if you dont want the extra 20 lbs...lol.

if your racing, get your car corner weighted. chances are placing the box in back will help in performance by getting more weight in back giveing you closer to a 50/50 weight ratio. the small change in weight will be offset by placing the box in a place to enhance your weight ratio.

i know the rear right side is the lightest corner on my car well it was last year so it should still be
