OBDII is was mostly an emmission upgrade over OBDI.

from what ive heard and seen, basically just requires 2 or more catalytic convertors.

as far as the performance end of it, its alot harder than OBDI. with OBDI, you could "chip" you vehicle alot easier. basically, most OBDI computers had an EPROM (Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory) in them. now by knowing what parameters to adjust, and having the Eprom burning accessories, you could mod your vehicle easily.

now with OBDII, you cant do it so simply. you need to get a tuner like SCT can provide or you need to have computer software and an interface cable like HP Tuners provides. rather than just reflashing a chip, you need to reflash the whole computer of the car.

now if there is an electronic transmission, you can edit those parameters with either OBDI or OBDII (i think).

there is alot that can be obtained with both systems, but OBDII is just more of a pain in the ass.

have fun!

Injection is nice but id rather be BLOWN!
