Alright all you alarm experts I need your help fast. I just installed an Autopage 520 alarm. Got everything installed last night and it seemed to be working. Got up this morning and started testing it out again and some functions don't want to work. When I arm the alarm the door open icon flashes on the remote even though the doors are closed. I hooked the negative door trigger wire from the alarm up to the green/black door trigger wire for the drivers door and the light blue wire on the passenger side for the passenger door. Also if I am inside the car and arm it and then manually unluck the door and open it the alarm doesn't go off. I also noticed that when the alarm is dissarmed the shock sensor logo on the remote coninuously flashes. I don't understand why it would be doing that. I checked all the wire connections and they all seem to be good so it shouldn't be due to a loose connection. I am completely clueless and just want to get the thing working so I can put my car back together. Please help ASAP. Thanks in advance.
Forgot to mention that I diode isolated the two wires that are both connected to the one door trigger wire on the alarm. The installation instructions said that you needed to do that otherwise you would lose certain door functions or something like that.
Did you put the diodes facing the correct direction in the wire?
Its different depending on negative or positive.
Also- alot of alarms won't moniter the door trigger immediately after arming the alarm- You might have to wait a little bit- even up to a minute. This prevents a false trigger for people using the dome light wire w/ a delayed dome light.
I wired the diodes in both how www.the12volt.com and the installation instructions say to do it. As the door deal, the remote says they are open no matter how long you wait after arming the remote. Also I hooked up the trunk trigger wire to the negative of the trunk light like you're supposed to and that doesn't work either. The remote doesn't show that it's open when you open the trunk even with the alarm armed. I'm completely out of ideas and there aren't any Autopage installers too close to me to get any help from.
Do you have the polarity of the door switches set to positive? Because they should be negative. They are ground-switched.
Not sure on the trunk. Maybe the same issue.
I got it figured out last night. The passenger door trigger wire is light blue, well apperently there are two light blue wires down in the passenger side kick pannel. I dug around and found where the light blue wire comes directly out of the door switch and attached the trigger wire right there and it fixed the problem with the doors. I still haven't figured out why the trunk trigger doesn't work but I'm not to concerned about that. The shock sensor should go off if some one is jacking around on the trunk that much to pop it open. Thanks for the help guys.
i had a remote start on my car when i bought it used...the installer tapped into the wire going to the trunk light for the trunk trigger. when i put in my viper 2-way i just used the same trigger, and it uses it just fine.
to open and close it..im not sure...i just copied wires right over, one at a time. but for the alarm trigger, that should help you.

Yeah I tried using the wire from the trunk light. It says to hook it up to the black wire on the trunk light but there are actually two black wires coming off of the trunk light. I tried both of the wires and neither seam to work. The trunk latch works no problem though.
I just installed my alarm about a week ago.
Look at the Blue BCM plug, pin A4 for a orange/black wire.
Thats the one I used for the trunk trigger and it works perfect.
That comes from the DEI site.
Granted we have a different year but it'd prolly be worth checking to see if yours has it too.
Any more problems other than the trunk trigger??

or you can get a mercury switch for the trunk. i had an extra one laying around so i used that instead of trying to figure out the trunk light wire setup
