Can anyone help me find a good mounting kit for my 2000 Cavalier. I bought one from Crutchfield but it doesn't work that well. This kit has an opening on the bottom part for an optional EQ. What this does is makes the receiver sit to high and it does not allow the trimming around the reciever to fit. The plastic from the car is in the way. Thanks in advance for any help.

I like it alot, i just bought some of that paint that matches the graphite dash so it will be the same color as the dash not black, i like ithis kit better than the one from crutcfield i had teh crutchfield one for 3 years, then i found this one, the nice thing about this one is that you use the screw holes in the side of the radio to mount the radio to the install kit not the little metal bendable tabs. also i had to take off my plastic surround piece off my kenwood deck to get it to fit, it makes it look like the radio was factory installed, and that little cubby is nice to have too

depending where you live you can just pick one up at a best buy or future shop, i believe for 2000's it would be the aamp bkgm 4. I could be wrong but just go on www.bestkits.com to find out for sure.

sorry to thread jack but does anyone know where i can find one for a 95-99 cavi taht has a cubby hole right beneath the radio? all i've seen are the like the one i have now with no cubby hole.

Found this thread while searching and looks like this mounting kit works good.
I have a question for those who have it...do you know the deminsions of the slot? I have a JVC KD-AV7010 7 inch flip screen that I need to install...will this fit in the mounting kit?

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
It's a 1 DIN opening so yes, any 1 DIN CD or DVD player will work, including your flip out.

I kinda got the same problem for my 99 fire...got a dvd player that is Single din but it is about a inch too long...it catches on the support in the back...any ideas how i can fix this???

One more question please....I need to get a wiring harness as well and I have done some searching and there are 2 different kind....one that keeps the chimes and dianostics and one that is just a harness.
What's the difference besides that and the price? Also, I'm overseas and have had a little trouble getting someone to ship to my addy here (it's an APO AE address)...anyone got info or know for sure where I can order it online at that will ship this thing to me?
If you can, link a page (for both) for me and the part number as I'm trying to get this thing done up in the next few weeks and I know if I order this thing (without some help!!) it won't be the right one!!!!!!!!
