Just purchased the AVIC-N3 navi system. I know that on the new models you can't watch dvd's and drive at the same time (not a big deal). However, I also heard that you can't change navigation points of interest while driving either. Thats where I have a Problem:
Can I buy that voice controlled mic to hook up to the headunit and have full control of the navi? or am I going to have to find out how to overide the system so that i have full controll while driving?
i dont think you can override the system. It sences through the gps that you are moving, and turn off any trype of video. About the navagation i dont think you can override that as well. Its all programmed in. Pioneer is getting really strict about their dvd players. They wont let you do anything with it while you drive. They are the only company that have a lock on them for watching movies while you drive.Good luck thoug. When my store gets the N3's in stock ill check em out.
it can be bypassed just like alpines coulntd and the N2s couldnt be. There was 2 ways to bypass the n2s so just be patient and let someone @!#$ up their 2 grand unit first.
lol, yeah i know there is a way to bypass pioneers setup, just dont know how yet. I don't really care that much about not being able watch dvds while the car is moving because i dont plan on trying to watch movies while driving.
My main issue is that I wont be able to change points of interest while driving for the navigation. Does anybody know if the voice controlled mic is able to be substituted so that you can control your navi while driving?
Thanks for the help.
