i just put an aftermarket cd player in, and i'm having proplems with the dimmer, ever time i hook up the dimmer, i blow a fuse.
any help would be appreciated.
Don't hook the dimmer wire up. Don't hook up Illumination either if your deck has a wire for it.

I hooked mine up, just had to get a 5 amp bigger fuse. Reason being, you are now demanding more power out of the stock system and the original fuse cant keep up.
Like when i upgraded my horn, i went from a 15 amp fuse to a 40 amp fuse. But for that i had to upgrade all the wires as well.
dont ask, lets just say, if my car alarm goes off, and your near the front bumper, i can blow your eardrums out.
