Right now I have a 10" sub hooked up to a 350w sub. I'm gonna sell them to my buddy and he's gonna give me a 2 channel amp for my rear speakers. Do I just hook up the new amp to the existing power/ground/rca wires, then run speaker wire from the amp to the speakers? The amp is 50w per channel, so what kind of wire do i need to run to the speakers? Also, whats the cleanest way to run wires from the amp to the speakers?

didn't know u can hook a sub to a sub and have them power each other.. lol

ya why not. if its hooked up correctly then do it.

so pples view on clean is different from others but as for mostly hidding them run them in seams or under carpet and up seams to blend them in.
Thanks...
Can I use the speaker wire that came with the speakers, or should i buy lower gauge, better quality? How long (approx) would it neet to be?
50 watts peak? If so you're just as good stickin with your sub cuz most decks peak out at 50 watts anyway. if that's RMS, then there'll be a nice gain. What made you want to amp your rears instead of keepin the sub? just wondering

I've yet to see a deck that couldn't actually put out 50 watts per channel, even peak.

The sub just rattles my car too much, and i don't have the time or money to get some sound deadener in it. I'm talking RMS here. The deck only puts out 45 peak.

Most if not all aftermarket headunits only put out around 15-20wrms per channel at the most. The amp will definetly perform better than just off of the headunit.
ah, my bad, meant to say COULD, I just saw that, sorry.

true... and RMS is what you'd actually be getting most of the time, whereas peak is rarely achieved (unless the gain is set too high or clipping, or somethin), correct?
50w RMS is better than the deck regardless.
i'm assuming you have an aftermarket deck?
It's possible depending on the deck you have, that the rca's are from a sub preout on the headunit. If your headunit has multiple sets of preouts, you'll want to double check. You'll need to change it if so.

I believe this is true... i have
this headunit. It says it has one set of RCA preouts, and a Subwoofer Crossover (LPF). Is it still possible to hook them up to the rear speakers?
And i still need to know what type of wires i need from the amp to the speakers.

it only has one set of rca preouts...so you will not need to take the deck out.
You just have to change the settings to allow the full signal through, (probalby turn off the subwoofer setting or something)
for wires..you just use speaker wire. it's only 50 watts, 18awg will work fine.
