My OEM CD player keeps spitting CDs out. It won't even start to read them. It takes them in, makes a whirling sound for about a second and kicks em out. Is the CD player burned out?
If so, I might use this as an excuse to upgrade. Will an OEM unit w/ MP3 function just plug up to my wiring harness for an easy swap? I want to keep my chimes and SCV.
Could possibly be dirty. But yes, there is a chance there is a physical problem with the laser or track.

It's up to you to decide which you'd rather win.
I asked the same question some time ago, if I could change my radio to one with the mp3. here is the link :
OEM radio swap
They told me it can be used but wont have the factory amp that came with those head units. And might need to take it to the dealer.
That link just brings up Outlook. So, does that mean the Monsoon doesn't have an internal amp?
Is there a Monsoon version and a plain version? I have this pic I found. It doesn't say Monsoon on it like some of the others I've seen.
I don't think they are diferent, just the emblem they have, One says monsoon and this one mp3, May be is a plain version like you said . I don't have enough information to answer that question. If there is someone that can answer thud question please answer it I would like to know too.
