a power inverter? unless you wanna rip it apart and wire the 12v directly to the board (I think it's 12v, I know computers are)
In all honesty, I would reccomend it, unless you plan on only using it when the car is not moving, xboxs and the first generation ps2's(the one thats not slim) use a floting drive, you hit a bump in the road, the disc could jump the tray and mess up your system. Best bet is to go with either a ps1, a slim ps2, or a gamecube, those the disc snap in and cant get jammed up in the system.
