Okay, now correct me if i'm wrong, but i've seen somewhere on here that DRL's dramatically drop the life span of the HID kits and that we should take the DRL's off in order to put the HID kits on right? But now, is there any better way to take the DRL's offinstead of taking out a fuse and not having one of your high beams working...that doesn't sound like a good idea to me....now i've seen where they've cut the wire close to the instrument panel and turned it off that way, does that work good? Let me know guys thanks in advance!

I can't speak for the cutting the wire method, however I've had mine disabled for the last 3 yrs doing the now "old-school" method:

And yes, having the DRL's with HIDs is a bad thing.
what year is your car? if it's a 95-99, then the DRL's are the high beam bulbs, so you don't have to worry about disabling them (unless you're putting HID's on the high beams)
Ok I have a question I have 2000 sunfire gt and I just bought the eurolight 9007 HID conversion kit from a buddy,and I hooked it all up ballast,igniter,so on it's all plug and play and the fuse's are good but yet the light's won't turn on???? so we pulled it out (thank god it's plug and play) and installed it in a 2000 neon and they worked fine

try turning the brights on or off.
brian...for cavs 95-99...like stated above, you don't have to worry about drl's because we have them on the high beams
i believe everybody else who uses just one bulb for both...you can disable your drl's
firepower...you might want to up your fuse. sometimes our cars don't give them enough juice to start. on mine, i had to put a relay, i've read that by putting a 30 fuse instead of the 25 is enough the majority of the time. i don't really know if that's any help.
thanks for the help but I still can't figure this one out,it doesn't seem to matter if the brights are on or not.I had a 2001 alero in at the shop its a buddys car so we put the kit in it today and it didn't work in that car either but yet everytime we try them in the 2000 neon they work, the fuse size came at 7.5 amps,but the instructions say if you have DRL's use the 30 amp fuse thats supplied with the kit I have yet to go any bigger on the fuse but I think I will tomorrow. if anyone else might know whats going on please help.
