Pioneer DEH-2800MP and Kicker KS

Cut me some slack, please, I'm a total Audio-N00b looking for some advice, suggestions, comments, etc.

Well, this is the second time my Cavalier has been broken into since the day before Christmas, and this time the little f**kers got my whole head unit. It was just a $90 Dynex unit, absolutely no sale-value left in it, so they'll probably spend more gas money driving to the pawn shop than they will get by selling it.

But I'm moving away from that bad neighborhood in a few weeks, so I'm gonna go ahead and buy a nice new head unit, new 4x6's, and 6x9's while I'm at it, since all I have now are the stock speakers.

Here's what I'm looking for from a head unit:
- Exceptional sound quality
- Only Left/Right channels needed
- Removable faceplate
- MUST play MP3's and WMA's
- MUST play CD and CD-R
- Does not have to be really powerful
- NO fancy sub controls
- NO remote
- NO distracting graphics/animations on the LCD display
- NO Satellite radio anythings
- NO iPod anythings
- NO extra component anythings

So I found this little guy, and was wondering if anyone had experience with it or a similar model, or any other good info about it? Is this a decent price? Any other recommendations as far as alternatives? I'm gonna buy this one this week unless I'm convinced otherwise.
Pioneer DEH-2800MP, $125.00

Also looking at a full set of Kicker KS speakers all the way around. Just the usual 4x6 and 6x9. I want 2-ways up front and 3-ways in the back. Friend of mine has KS's in his Grand Prix and they sound damn good.

Good price? Good speakers? I listen to a lot of Metal/Death Metal, so I guess these'll do alright?
Kicker KS Series KS693, 6x9, $150.00 Pair
Kicker KS Series KS46, 4x6, $80.00 Pair

Please share your thoughts and recommendations!

I had a Pioneer in my old cavi. It was a lot more expensive than that one and had graffics and all that stuff. It was a nice headunit. That one looks as if it has the same basic controls. It will be easy to use and looks good for $125. Are you gonna install it yourself?

Likely will not install it myself. Best Buy will do the full install for $50 give or take, then add cost of whatever harness, install kit, antenna cable, miscellaneous stuff, etc. Price really adds up. The guy(s) who broke into my car took everything down to the connectors... literally cut the cables off the back, so everything needs replacement down to the basic wire ends and stuff. Plus, I'd prefer to have some more experience screwing with in-dash electronics on my old car before doing any work to the car I have to use every day to avoid any complication. Practice makes perfect.

It's more money, but why not go with the Pioneer units made for the GM cars, like the DEH47P?
