My friend had a 1994 buick regal and Best Buy put an Alpine Head unit in it for him. He recently bought a Grand Prix so I took the head unit out of his regal and put it in the Grand prix. His regal was a piece of @!#$ so we didn't even hook the old radio back up. Now his car won't start and i can't figure out what's wrong. All of the lights in the car work, but when he turns the key forward, nothing happens... could the lack of a radio be causing this.

I'm open for any suggestions... tell me what you think

dont ingore the obvious and try to jump start it first.

maybe the starter is dead.

same thing has just happend to me like 2min ago, i just put in my alpine deck in my 2001 with the tracker harness, turned the car on, worked fine, then i shut it off unhooked battery, hooked up amp and subs. put battery back togeather and turned the key and it wont start......i put the ignition wire to a big guage pink wire by the hood release...it was 12v when igni was on and 0 when off....i put a 5amp fusible link.... and car wont start and deck doesnt work....but lights do...

Check all your fuses, inside the car and in the engine bay. Guy at work popped the PCM fuse in a car a few weeks ago and it did the same things, everything worked except the car wouldn't crank.

allright ill give it a look over, so far the 5amp fuse thats connected to the pink wire blew...so i put on a 20amp fuse and my odometer workes and all lights..but wont even crank...it makes a bad noise..cant describe it but it wasnt doing it the 1st 3 times i tried to crank it over....hopefully my altenator isnt dead...

oh and also the deck will power for about 15sec then shut down.....

Is it making a clicking sound? If so then your battery's dead.

Alright... I'll check his fuses tomorrow. we already tried to jump start it. I know the battery isn't dead considering all the lights and things still work.
