I want to be sure, before I go through the hassle of pullin out my subs. If I'm not mistaken, the 6x9's on the back deck are inaccessable from the trunk. Is that correct? If so, how do you get to them? Also, anyone have any suggestions on how to properly measure to cut my carpet on my back deck for my speaker screens? I don't wanna overcut.
Do a search.
Its explain so many times it should be easy to find.
I searched google for the install. perhaps I did somehing wrong.... biggest thing I'm concerned about with the hole cutout is getting it in the right location. (although I admit also, that I was concerned with hole size until you mentioned templates

Just received my 6x9 efx coaxials today. NO TEMPLATES INCLUDED! Anyone else have any suggestions?
Haven't found any good, detailed info on how get to remove my rear deck, either.
get your rear deck out
HERE
after you get it out, flip it over (carpet side down). lay your speakers where you want the holes to be cut. trace an outline. cut the rear deck about a 1/16th of an inch on the INSIDE of the trace. badabing badaboom!
GO PATS!!!
so, should the screens be on top of the carpet, or down in the hole? I was thinking on top? I think I already screwed up, though... I turned the deck over, and checked where the holes were for sound to come through and compared it to my screens. The size was just under the size of the screens, so I cut according to that. No everything is in, and it looks great from a distance, but if you get up really close, you can see the particle board between the speaker and the screen. Also, this is only if you're looking at it from the right angle. You can't see it from the outside looking in, but you can if you're in the backseat looking at them. The part closest to the front of the car isn't showing any particle board under there. The part closest to the trunk is where I see it. Also, had a hell of a time getting those screws in there. I ended up having to use a chuck for an eletric screwdriver and a pair of pliers for the back ones. I couldn't even fit a ratchet back in there. Talk about time consuming. I don't think GM intended for us to cut the deck and install screens, but oh well
