Ok I am working on getting my license back so my wife drives for the moment and I notice (while chillin like a villain in my passenger seat) that the computer (PCM/ECM/I dont really know what it is) underneath the glovebox makes high pitches squeaking noises... hard to explain really, kinda like alternator whine. It is constant, and I dont think it changes with rpms. I could check though. If you all think it isn't normal I could probably get a sound clip too. I'll have to see if this laptop has a microphone in it though, or just a microphone jack.
oh yeah car is an 03 ls sport cavy 4 door. 47 thousand miles.
I dunno, I think it has been there ever since I got the car at 30,000 but I aint shure.
thanks in advance!
booooooooo, still no responses?
The PCM/ECM/computer/whatever-you-want-to-call-it should be in the engine bay, on a bracket on the passenger strut tower.
The only thing I know of that should be under the glove box is the relay for the power locks... behind the plastic trim panel on the A-pillar. Unless you're referring to part of the blower assembly...
hrmmm... Maybe I should pull out whatever it is in there.
maybe someone is tracking me.....
j/k, but is there really nothing else underneath the glovebox other than the plastic for ventilation?
okie, thanks for your help guys, i guess I will play operation this weekend and see if I can figure out where the noise is coming from. I think I might just be getting a relfection of the sound down there. Even with the blower off it still makes the noise, so I will let you guys know what it turns out to be.
