Help

I have a 2001 Sunfire. I am trying to install 6x9's in the back. What is the easiest way to do this. I am not that experienced with installing, but can figure it out with a little help.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, you're going to have to take off the package shelf. To do this, you will need to:

Remove the seatback, should tilt forward and slide to the right, then pull free.
Start at the back with the plastic trim and begin to pull it away from the windows
Do this for both sides until you are able to pull the deck off the back.
Once you have the back deck off, you will be able to access the speakers.
Unplug them, dismount them, and swap away.
If you have the monsoon amp? You will have two separate leads to the rear 6x9's
Use the leads that go to the main speaker, and tape off the ones that go to the tweeters.
Read the FAQ's for the speaker wire colors, and many other tips.

GM, in their infinite wisdom, decided to make it a little harder for us to do this swap. I actually have to do this this weekend again!!! Arghh. It is a lot cheaper to do it yourself, plus you get the satisfaction of knowing you did the mod!

I hope this helps.
