ok from reading my haynes manual, it looks like you want to take your wiring harness to the outer tails, and cut the yellow wire on the left side and the dark green on the right, those control the blinking action of the outer taillights. then take them and splice them into the light green wires of the backup lamps. that should work

right the outers can't blink because you took thier wire and hooked it to the reverse lights

Also, the outers will not light when you hit the brakes....

Follow these instructions, except route the wire to the reverse light socket:

I had this wired up for a short time, but set it back to stock function (sorta).... didn't really like it.

Now I just have them as brake/park:

If you have a 95, I'd follow the Toyo tail instructions, and hook it to the 194 in the outside of the outter tails, then cut some of the lens and put in a clear or amber piece of plastic. I've thought of doing that to mine, but I went a different way instead.

call me stupid but i can't understand how those toyotails wiring can help me with switching my lights...i looked at the wires and wouldn't i just take the wire that causes the light to blink to the 12+ one on the reverse light wire...

If you look at the brake light socket, there are only 3 wires: brake, park and ground....

The 12v wire for the turn signal is the same one for the brake light... you could run the wire to your reverse socket, but it would then function as both a brake and turn light.

If you wanted an independant turn signal, then you would follow the ToyoCav wiring diagram... if you don't mind having both lights as brake and turn, then splice in the 12v +

ok, i didn't follow through with the schematic *slaps forehead*

yeah, kardain is right, if you use the toyo tails diagram you'll be set.

basically you take the yellow wire from the left taillight and splice it into the left reverse lights green wire

then take the green wire from the right taillight and splice it into the right reverse lights green wire

then cut the white wire on the 3rd brakelight and splice it to the 3rd brakelight, yellow wire coming off of the left taillight, and green wire on the right taillight, this makes it so you have brakelights on your outer tails.

and finally clip the white wire going into your turn signal/headlight switch assembly, and that will stop the brake signal from getting to the reverse lights

pick up a haynes manual and go to page 12-22 the wiring diagaram is right there and makes this a whole lot easier
