okay i had it in the car for about 2 weeks. worked great. then quit working let me take the cd that was in it out and then nothing. little red security light still blinked tho. well i called the company i ordered it from and they took it back and fixed it by replacing the inner workings.
well i got it back and reinstalled it about 40 minutes ago. it worked for like 2 seconds litterally and then did the same stupid thing. i know it is hooked up right but cannot for the life of me figure out what it wrong.
any ideas?

Check the wiring on the factory side of the harness. Maybe a gound or power wire is kinked or clipped. Sounds like it is either grounding out, or blowing fuses.
Gotta keep on livin', L-I-V-I-N
i thought about that. but all the fuses are fine. i will have to rip the interior panels out again and check everywhere i ran wire but i am almost positive that nothing is touching anywhere i was extremely careful about that.
either way i am going to car the company again tomorrow.
thanks

should have bought it from a local retailer, that way you would have customer support. The internet is KILLING car audio.

well i ripped out my interior this morning and found the problem. the wire had shifted under the carpet and the carpet retainers for the seat had puntured the wire and grounded it. i'm an idiot. but i still got great customer service from those guys.
i have never had a problem with the internet and buying audio equipment. but then again i have always been really careful about it. i would like to buy local but there are no kenwood dealers around here anymore.
oh well. but it is working freaking great now. thanks for the help
