I'm guessing he wants to power enough amps to blow his car the f*ck up.

yea thats a bit of overkill, i talked to a number of places about this before I'm having a severe voltage problem at the moment and just dont have enough juice to do the job im thinking more along the lines of 200-220

Custom built: I can't see why not.

The housing will probably be bigger than stock, but as long as the brackets fit, you can get a belt that works, and there's room in the engine bay, then why not?

Ask an electrical guru like Dominic Iraggi, someone from Ohio Generators, or put a post up with the Excessive Amperage guys on the Realmofexcursion forum.

One of them will be able to answer your question with certainty, or least lead you to someone who can.

I got my 300A alt from Dominic Iraggi but I'm having voltage problems at idle. If you get one it will be a large case GM alt., like the ones in gm trucks.

yea 300 is huge, i doubt you would ever need that much amps in something that's not gonna be a crazy show car.

Short Hand, they aren't as expensive as you might think.

Is he running it for daily?

Assuming he ends up with the electrical system to power, which will be hard to do, yeah, he'll fry the sub. Heck, even if he doesn't he'll probably fry the sub, or at least an amp. They say 10,000 RMS for those things, but I've never seen anyone run that kind of power to them and not have them blow.
