Internal Amp on 2000 Sunfire Monsoon Radio
Wednesday, April 26, 2006 11:54 AM

Does anyone know where the internal amp to the 2000 Sunfire Monsoon Radio is located because I would like to disable that one and upgrade it to a 800w amp for my 4x6 and 6x9 speakers.

Thanks,
Jay

In the trunk, to the driver's side, behind the carpeting.

The list of wire colours is in the Library FAQ.

Um....yeah I just pulled up my carpeting and I am seeing nothing but red steel. Any other places it could be hiding?

You sure you have the monsoon system? Do your rear speakers have 2 clips or just one for speakers? There will be 4 wires per speaker for the monsoon system.

2 wires to each speaker as far as I can tell. I am having a heck of a time getting that pesky rear deck off. I pulled all the carpet in the back off and there is nothing back there, plenty of places to hide things should I decide to put in an amp but the factory one is an elusive little thing. My 2 rear speakers are also messing up. They went out, came back on after I bought my 2 new 6x9s and my sub as I was driving home from a liquidation sale. I snagged 2 XXX 400w 6x9s and a 12" 400w Legacy subwoofer for $30.00. They went out as I turned around to return them so ya...a bit of trouble with my SF.

Then you don't have the monsoon system if it only has 2 wires to each speaker. As for your speakers, I'm suprised they lasted that long.
