Grommet for power wire
Sunday, April 23, 2006 11:19 AM
What is the best way to run a power wire from the battery to the trunk? Is there a grommet on the firewall I can use? Do I run it under the carpet? Any answers greatly appreciated. BTW, it's on a 1997 4 door cavalier.

Thanks!!!

Brian

You can run it under the carpet, or along the doorsill. Just make sure it is on the opposite side of the car from the RCA wires if this is for an amp. Good Luck.

the best way is under the car in the unibody.... or weld some conduit under the car and drill a hole in your trunk. But you can run it through the car just go into the big grey rubber grommet kinda thing around the main wiring harness.

I have mine running through the large grommet around the clutch pedal, then over to the driver's door sill (away from any pinch points) then back to the trunk.

I have my 2 gauge thru the grommet for my steering colum, just made a hole alittle smaller the the 2 gauge and pushed it thru, fits nicely, run the power wire oppostie side of the RCA's and remote wire

just riding around in the 4 door cav
