"most" speakers are not made to be housed in a tiny sealed enclosure..so why would you enclose the backs?

yeah, seal it right up. you dont want the opposite side of the sine wave cancelling out the music. thats why you would seal any type of speaker on an open baffle. plus you wont get the rattles from the things behind the speaker. I thought that the Q-logics came as a sealed enclosure though.

yea..sure. your 6.5" mid will just LOVE being in a .0015 cubic ft sealed enclosure, lmao
sealing a door skin off...and sealing a kickpanel are two different things buddy

on the real though..the carpet will be enough of a "seal" around the kickpanel....and if you add a little polyfill behind it, it'll sound just fine.

PERFECT cus i suck with fiberglass and making a back for these would probably be my undoing..but just re-inforcing it...i think i can handle that...now,on to find the right speakers and amp

yea, reinforcing them is all you need to do. you could even stick some sound deadening on the back of them, that would help

if you sealed it up and put a 6.5" speaker in ther that can't handle a small enclosure you will lose all midbass output. some speakers can handle being in a small enclosure like that, but most that you find are built for larger enclosures like the size of your door since this is mostly where the speaker will be installed. as long as you get a decently tight seal against the carpet all will be fine.
