Help design my Sub enclosure!!!
Tuesday, April 25, 2006 9:39 AM
Hey guys and gals,

Well now has come time for me to come up with a custom enclosure fo my system. I thought i would turn to the .ORG to help me design this one of a kind show enclosure. So any ideas anyone has helps. Here is the specs of my system.

(2) - 12 He 2's Rockford Fosgate
(1) - 551s Rockford amp

My system is the only thing that isnt compelted... And i wanted to have something that set me apart from the rest. Ive been putting this off for a couple of years now because i just cant seem to come up w/ a design i think will be different and unique.

Either a fiberglass install or a wooden full enclosure would be good. Ive fiberglassed my TV before in my interior so im experienced w/ that... its just i dont wanna be like every other freakin show car.

SO Come up w/ some WILD IDEAS FOR ME!!.... ne thing goes...

Here is what i did w/ my tv screen and my climate controls... I would prefer a fiberglass custom enclosure b/c you can do virtually ne thing you want...

Hmmmm, fiberglass your enclosure and wrap it in that black and blue c/f, silver c/f, or regular c/f. Doesn't matter.

Get those subs where you can imprint your logo or name in them, and customize the basket and etc. Hmmmm, if you know where to get those electrical tubes from install those all throuhout the trunk and interior. You know the tubes where you can touch it and the electricity goes to your hand. Yea that's all I can think of.

Yeah thats what i was thinking of... fiberglassing the enclosure then taking it to my aphoulstry guy and having him cover it.. i have my whole interior covered in a white w/ blue pearl and a blue carbon fiber

Yeah i thought about also air brushing my club logo "TA" like in the headrest of my racing seats... so idk...

I like the idea of the elctric statick balls somethin different... im lookin to do somethin of that nature.. but i dont know if it will fit my overall look o and here is something that is also unique to my cavy... to give you guys some ideas..

I painted graphics over my carbon fiber hood. So maybe a fiberglass enclosure with a tribal look? idk

depends on if you want a back seat or not, and if you want the subs in the trunk.

what would be pretty cool is to plexi the back seat. but not just ordinary plexiglassing, if you can form it to the seat, kind of like a clear fiber glass. mount the subs inside the see through enclosure. put the 2 subs in the see through seat back, and the amp in the see through seat bottom.

this way, your subs would kind of be in both the front seat and the back seat. you can see right through the car too. i dont even know if it is possible, but i think it would be pretty cool. you could dress it up a bit too. paint all the exposed metal under the stock seats the same colour or pattern of the car, so its not an eyesore. put some matting and or some wire loom to hide all the wires since it is a clear enclosure.

if you form it to still look like a back seat and keep the seat belts still in the car, then you can still have it functional and maybe do some vinyl covered padding so its still comfortable.

now thats pretty original.

Injection is nice but id rather be BLOWN!

i dont think theres a chance thats even possible. they are a 12" sub and i doubt they sound good free air, because there isnt enough room to build a box under there.

why dont you mount them on the trunk lid.

fiberglass an enclosure to mount on the trunk lid and use hydralic arms to support the weight of the sub fiberglass and lid. the would be pretty cool.

that way when you pop your trunk, the subs are aimed outward of the car. that would make a pretty good show piece. you could make a nice amp rack to go on the back of the seat, dpending on how big your amp is, and maybe a LCD too on the amp rack.

this will still enable you to have a functional trunk, but building the box on the lid would be dificult. you would have to pay really close attention to clearance issues for the trunk opening and closing.

if you have a flip flop trunk, this isnt going to work.

i wish i remembered the name of the guy with the plexi false floor with 3 JL\'s and the amps sliding out from under the rear deck, definately my favorite \"bling\" set up, it has a lot of show quality stuff, but looks very tastefull and clean. i would suggest something with those ideas in mind.. clean, tastefull, but still uniuqe and show-ish, i would say false floor with the amp(s) under a sliding door set up, when u pop the trunk the doors slide open(sliding under the floor, hrd to explain), and the amp(s) pops straight up out of the floor, with the subs fiberglassed popping out of the rear corners, like their facing the center of the trunk, enclosure back is to the tail lights, they fiberglassed to look like theyre flying out at each other, know what i mean? i dunno, bored at work, just thought that up.

On the other hand....you have other fingers.

i think u should build enclosures in the corner pockets of the trunk, and blend it all in make it look like it came that way. Thats what i want to do, but i dont have the time or patients to try custom building the enclosures

Yeah i love the idea... but i just got my seats covered so its pointless to yank them out to do the plexiglass install
