So I have read teh FAQ's and figured out most of it, I just need the last bit.
So I currently have the stock system in place without and amp and its all getting ripped out.
So here are my questions
For getting a new head unit, do i need to run a new harness from the front of the car all the way to the back in the trunk where the amp is
From there i run positive and negative to the front left, right, rear left and rear right.
So should I rip out all the old wires that came stock with the system??
From the battery im going to run a new power line to the amp, or is there a better place to splice in.
So basically im just double checkthing that everythign is correct, im going to be laying down monster cable speaker wire in my car soon and just dont want to waste cable or do something wastefull.
So does this all sound correct??
Btw its a full polk momo audio going in to the 4 channel polk momo amp, and will be picking up a pioneer or alpine headunit soon as well. Thanks!

I am not sure what your asking here. Your harness should stay in your dash unless your using the GM one that doesn't loose your factory head unit.
Otherwise the only thing you need to run from the head unit is the rca's to the amp.

Leave the old harness in place just run new wires to all four speakers from the amp

That is correct, just make sure you use a fuse under your hood before you go through your firewall.
SO, the headunit will come wihte RCA to the amp and that is all i need, i dont placn on keeping the factory harness, so im just clairfying before everything gets done, what is a good RCA to get as well??
Rockford Fosgate twisters are pretty good RCA's, and Tsunami isn't bad either. As for power to the amp, be sure to run a thick enough gauge wire in case you want to expand in the future. To check this, check the fuse on the amp itself. Make sure the inline fuse by the battery is the same amperage, and I'd run a 4 gauge power wire to the trunk. This will enable you to expand in the future, and you will expand.
As for the harness in the dash, you should use iut to at least run your head unit power and ground.
Car audio is an addiction just like modding! Good luck with the install.

so i have a question, where does the RCA connect. Does the head unit connect to the amp through a molex connector or through RCA? And rom the amp does it connect to the speakers through RCA or is like a home audio where it has a place for the postivie and negative wiring, thanks!
Okay! The amp is connected to the headunit by RCA's. The speakers are connected to the amp like home speakers with a pos and a neg. By asking these questions, I hope you are kidding. If not, consult a shop. Whatever you do, make sure it is done right the first time. I've read stories about peoples wiring catching fire. Not trying to discourage you, just want to make sure you understand what you're doing.

i have wired tons of home stereos, but this is my first car stero wiring ever, so that is why i want knoledge first before jumping in. That makes a ton of sense, thanks!
positive wire goes from the batt + terminal to the amp +
negative is grounded in your trunk like where the bolt are that hold down your back seats
rca's run from the radio to the amp
remote wire (blue wire) runs from your new head unit to the amp (REM terminal)
speaker wires are easy so u should be ok with that
make SURE YOU ADD ON A FUSE BEFORE U GO THROUGH THE FIREWALL ABOUT 12" FROM THE BATTERY TERMINAL!!!!! DO NOT CONNECT THE POWER WIRE TO THE BATTERY UNTILL YOUVE PUT IN THE FUSE AND EVERY THING ELSE IS INSTALLED AND GROUNDED THE GROUND WIRE.
