OK, so I sold my factory radio on eBay about 3 weeks ago. The guy who got it said that he cannot get it to work in his car. So, I sent him a link to
here about how to fix it, and now he's telling me that the dealership can't do anything for him, and he wants to know if he can return it. So, I want to know if there's another way to get this thing to work, or if the dealership he's talking to just doesn't want bothered by him, or what. Because I don't want to refund him, and then have to sell it again and waste another $5 in eBay fees.
SOMEBODY HELP!
I took my car in with a stock radio from ebay and they reprogrammed it just fine. I didn't even need the vin number of the other car. Sounds like the dealerships just blowing him off.
Basically the dealer might ask for some id and recipt to prove that the stereo wasn't stolen but besides that he shouldn't have a problem. Just tell him to take it to the dealership and explain his situation, they should be able to help if not go to another dealer or call GM and complain!
that's what I thought, too. I mean, there are at least 30 GM factory radios for sale on eBay on any given day, and they can't all be junk.
