Factory or aftermarket radio?
You have the auto voluming on, it will get louder as you drive faster.
stock and how do i remove it? Im not going to blow this sub!
my cobalt does that, and so does my buddy's z24
lash ... i ended up frying the voice coils on my RE12" so its possible! Does any one know how to get ride of that auto volume?
yeah, get an after-market head unit.
there is no way to disable it?
lol try to google it
first locate glove box, then remove owner's manual, READ section on audio system
My parents Monte Carlo had a button that said Auto Vol on it.... their trail blazer also has the same thing... I would hope you'd be able to turn it off. If it was me, I would just get a new head unit, but that's just me.
my cavi rocked the stock for 14 hrs.
I had my Alpine before I got the car
but unfortunately my lazy ass didnt install it untill like 2 weeks later....so TECHNICALY you got me beat nate
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

02 cav ... This car is not going to be here for long ... i hope ... im upgrading the system for two reasons ... one my old sub blew... two i will have everything ready for the new car for me to just swap it in.
Here is your manual
Quote:
SCV: Your system has a feature called
Speed-Compensated Volume (SCV). With SCV, your
audio system adjusts automatically to make up for road
and wind noise as you drive. Set the volume at the
desired level. Turn the control ring behind the upper
knob clockwise to adjust the SCV. Then, as you drive,
SCV automatically increases the volume, as necessary,
to overcome noise at any particular speed. The volume
level should always sound the same to you as you drive.
If you don’t want to use SCV, turn the control all the
way down. Each notch on the control ring allows for
more volume compensation at faster vehicle speeds.
Now was that so hard!!!!! .......i am really bored at work folks.
