I am not a user, BUT I am a huge fan.

-Our shop runs iRE drivers for SPL comps. Our A Class having a single 12 sx, our Class C (maybe) featuring 2 - 15' MT's on 2 2000SX or AX US Amps.

Nope.

Ding ding ding, we have a winner.

Doesn't really have an effect on me as I can still get things for cost, but it sucks for most people out there. Seriously, you have to be kidding me $1600 for a XXX. I realize the new subs are crazy good, but I can remember when those XXX's were less then $300 a pop, and that wasn't that long ago. Now over 5 times that amount, it's ridiculous.

Guess we'll see how it plays out.

Im waiting from word from the company themselves. I'm looking at either the MTs or DD nothing really is gonna be able to handle the power i have so those are about my only choices.

DD 9917......*drool*

Atomic, American Bass and Treo probably all have something that will stand up to the abuse (at least for a little while).
Just a thought.

I hear the MT 15's are now over $1k!!!!!! WTF! LMAO!!!!

U.S. Amps basically took over RE. I was gonna get some RE8's....but since the direct price jumped from $52 each to $109 overnigh..my Tang Bands should be here next week !!! I cant wait to see how much I can get for my SE10 on e-bay now...lol.

It really sucks though. You rarely ever get quality like that at that kind of price. Simply put...they HAD the best subs for the money. Not many other companies could compete. U.S. Amps saw a cash cow and they're using it to their full advantage. The old R.E. mad the name...now U.S. Amps is gonna make the money,

It's true Nate. Just give them a call and ask for direct pricing. It sucks, and I just found out the guy who I would get stuff through, got taken off the dealer list. No more cheap prices for me.

Wait until you see how much a XXX 18" is going to be.

sndsgood, the guy who owns US Amps bought them.

What the hell are they thinking?
The whole reason they were so popular was because you could get good quality stuff for a half-decent price.

Over $1k US for a 15" MT? Are they nuts? They just went from being a several hundred bucks cheaper than DD9515s to a few hundred bucks more.

IMO, RE just shot themselves in the foot. Now, I can go through a couple of 18" Strokers for the price of a MT, and can get DD, Treo and American Bass SPL subs for quite alot less (not many RE dealers up here). Crap, even the new T3 subs (not RF) are cheaper than the XXXs now....

Dumb move, RE.

Unholy savage good point on the atomic. But no AB and definitely no treo. If I were gonna pay that much for them i'd just get the higher priced mt. Looks like I'll put in a call to that little place digital designs today.

it's a smart business move...but they will be at a loss on their way to the mainstream market. Since they have big money backing them now i'm sure they can handle it.

btw, SI mag 15's...ordering monday ; (no more RE for me!)

ok 440 for an APXX and 400 for an APX hmmmm
Re: RE fans/users

Nate, if you decided to go with Atomic, make sure you talk to George all you can. A friend and I ran the APX's a few years ago, and George ended up screwing us on recones. More or less cost my friend the USACi championship. Other then that he's a great guy and was always there for us.
