Parking Brake Bypass

I bought a Kenwood KVT-747DVD and installed it. Everything works but I get no picture on the video because I left the Parking Brake wire disconnected. It says it has to be connected in order to be able to see video on the monitor. Is there a way to bypass it so i can see video all the time instead of just when the car is in park?

Depends on the DVD player. A lot of the new one cannot simply be grounded. They need to see 12 volts and then switched to ground. Your unit should have come with some sort of diagram that you can use to figure out how it works.

Yup, either need to ground that wire or give it a switched 12v. Pretty easy. My Sony needed to be grounded, Jack Brown's Pioneer needed 12v.

so if you just ran the ground wire to a switch...let it see the power and then hit the switch...would that work?

Just ground the wire. If it don't work, then put 12v to it.
