alright... so before i took my stock radio ('01 sunfire) apart, because one of the three bulbs behind the screen burnt out. i opened it up, and as far as i can tell, it's definitely burnt out; since it hasn't worked in the past few months. put it back together, and a week or two later another one went out. now the far right bulb works, which isn't much help because all i can see is the equalizer display. (the clock and cd time are nearly impossible to see, especially in daylight).
i figured this isn't all that bad, since it'd be kind of cool to replace those bulbs with maybe blue LEDs.
anyways the screen protector-thing is soldered into place onto a computer chip...
has anyone done this before? do i just need to get a soldering gun and heat up the old solder so i can remove the screen-protecting panel so i can get to the bulbs?
anyone who has knowledge or experience in this i'd really appreciate any help!
e-mail me: cfklues@yahoo.com if you have any specific questions or just post and i'll get back to you within 12 hours or so...
thanks guys!
