I have a 2000 cavalier z24 and I want to put a shock sensor on my vehicle. Does anybody know if I can get a universal shock sensor and add it to my factory alarm and if so then how would I do it.....if anybody has any answers it would be greatly appreciated thank you.
no, i dont believe you can tie it in. sorry. why do you want a shock sensor so bad??? if you are really concerned about security get an aftermarket alarm
Well, maybe, but it'll be a bunch easier to do with an aftermarket alarm.
If you wanted to try, this MIGHT work.
First, find out what wire and what charge (positive or negative) goes on when you open the door.
Go get yourself a shock sensor from like DEI. You'll have to figure the wiring, but one will prolly be a positive and one will be a negative for the power. Then the other wire should be a trigger. You'd have to get creative with the wiring and prolly some relays but your goal would be to get the trigger from the sensor to go to the wire for the door pin and send the same charge that happends when you open the door. So basically, you would be tricking the car into thinking that a door was open when actually it was just the signal from the sensor.
And after writing all this, I can't remember if the stock alarm will go off if you open the doors with the car locked or not, I don't remember how the stock one works. So you'd prolly have to figure that out first - lol.
Maybe that helped a little, idk.

Also your door ajar chimes and dome light would turn on every time the car was bumped... imagine a road with potholes?
I was happy when I heard my car ran 10s. Then I found out that was 0-60.
Thanks for all your help guys!
